I have written in my previous post that one of the ways to choose the right person to be your business partner is to look at the ten profiles.
Using the chinese profiling way is much simpler. Instead of answering a series of questions that define who you are and what is your strength, your abilities can be seen at a glance using the chinese profiling way. You just need to get your date of birth and time of birth ready and key into the many tools available on the internet. Here are two which I use (and they are free!):
Calculator provided by Joey Yap http://bazi.masteryacademy.com/App/Basic/DefaultGrowth.aspx
Calculator provided by Voyteki
There are basically 10 profiles using the first calculator. They are:
The pioneer - shrewd in business sense, entrepreneur in nature
The director - good management skills
The warrior - fight or die attitude, able to execute the most challenging work issues
The diplomat - able to carry out task with perfection
The performer - ability to create business ideas and able to represent one’s company well
The artist - creative and create the finest product
The leader - bring people and get people to follow him
The friend - connects well with different people
The analyzer - able to research and work with data
The philosopher - able to strategize and have unique insights about matters
We can also group two profiles together to form structures using the 2nd calculator:
pioneer (ying) and director (yang) - wealth - “money making machines” by increasing revenue or reducing cost
artist (ying) and performer (yang) - output - giving you the products which the market wants)
warrior (ying) and diplomat (yang) - power - commanding and running operations
philosopher (ying) and analyzer (yang) - resource - making sense of information
friend and leader - companion/parallel - connecting with others
Therefore, before you decide on who you want to work with. You may want to find out the areas which you want the business partner to help you with - are you looking for someone who can make the change happen and execute your plans well? You will need someone with a warrior profile then. However, someone with a warrior profile may not be able to work well with one with a director profile as both profiles will want to lead the organisation and we cannot simply have two different heads in the same organisation.
Conclusion
We live in an ecosystem and one profile is not superior than the other. Balance is the key and just like a piece of artwork with colours that complement one another, making a business successful can mean to have different characteristics of people working together for a common good and not to fall into group think.
