This is the start of a week's break for the students and teachers in Singapore. This is unprecedented school holidays in July and I'm glad that Singapore Ministry of Education #MOE is flexible enough to implement such a break. A shout-out to all my ex-colleagues - have a restful break this week!

After an eventful 2019 for myself, here comes 2020 that comes with a bang - with the arrival of COVID virus. This time round, we are more prepared with this sudden virus spread. The MOE for example, has been well-prepared with temperature taking exercises, contact tracing as well as online learning system. The online system has taken years to build and teachers worked hard to build the content. When the government mentioned that we are ready for this emergency, to a certain extend we are ready.

Of course, there are still many areas that we can improve. For example, how to prevent the spreading of fake news and help one another in ensuring hygiene standards are observed. I am thankful that the government is already working on making improvement, now that we are moving towards phase 3 after the circuit breaker.

How to ensure we lead our daily lives still while getting ourselves protected? Many insurers have also stepped up to assure policy holders will be covered adequately. You can refer to the page here to find out the different protection against COVID-19 - bit.ly/livelifewithcovid

Nevertheless, it is indeed a wake up call for myself - that life is unpredictable and there may be a sudden illness, and in this case virus, which may knock its door at anyone and anytime!

Hence, do we need to do an audit to ensure that our financial portfolio is sufficiently and effectively deployed to protect our love ones should any mishap happen to ourselves?

Should we at least ensure that we have hospitalization coverage to ensure that we can cover adequately for any emergency in future?

Please stay healthy, stay safe, stay covered adequately!
