How do you feel if you have a pre-existing condition that you have to leave with it for life?

My son has eczema since the age of three and there isn't any integrated shield plan yet (higher hospital coverage). We are really blessed that his condition has not been life-threatening and we have managed to put the condition in checks, not without spending time, effort and money in managing it. This is similar to long-term care which we may be inevitably facing as we age!
