Courage

When you think of me, what comes into your mind?

Courage is what people usually say about me. For example, having the courage to do things that are out of the norms such as leaving my comfort zone to join a totally new industry.

To me, it is not starting from scratch but a jump start to infinite possibilities. We just have to believe in ourselves and take the leap of faith. We need to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

A leap of Faith!

After being a teacher for more than 20 years and being a head of department, many friends and colleagues were in disbelief that I decided to let go of everything. Just like a child who starts to learn how to walk, I started my new career by learning things all over again. It is not without any difficulty - I remember crying after an appointment as I was unable to handle the tough questions given.

Nevertheless, I am full of gratitude for the new experiences given to me. I start to connect with people and spend time talking to them. The people that I met or those around me, opened up to me and shared more, and I am learning to understand them.

Grateful to people who care about me and believe in the work that I do.

I strongly believe that I can reach out and help many, and I will continue to learn and jump through hoops that may be ahead of me - I am here to stay in this financial industry.

Let all of us have the courage to do the things we want to achieve in life! "Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to act in the presence of fear"~Bruce Lee
