First, my apologies for not being able to write everyday on my reflection to commit to my 30 days challenge. The writing of reflections is always at the back of my mind, as it is a way to remind myself over and over again why I am doing what I am doing now, and also to help those who are reading – if you think that you are struggling, or lost in life, or just need some encouragement. If you do know of people who need some form of encouragement, do share with them my articles.
Today is a letter to my children…
Dear children,
We went to night safari last week. I felt so proud of you now, cos you enjoyed looking at the animals just like how I used to take all of you to the zoo till it became an overdose and none of you wanted to go there anymore lol. By the time we took the tram ride, I fell asleep as it was such a soothing experience, to be comfortable with the nature and be physically with the love ones.
It took me a lot of courage to leave “an iron rice bowl” industry and started to on this new journey. This potentially puts you all in a situation where I may not support you as much as I am able to. However, I have strong faith that you can take care of yourselves now. After all, life is about getting out there meeting and facing challenges and overcome them along the way.
I have restarted my career for a mission and I am able to relate to what you are going through now. I join this profession to help the people around me to achieve that, including you, my kids. Start your financial planning early, plan as soon as you can. A life without a plan is a like this phase – “fail to plan and plan to fail”. To my kids whom are now stepping into adulthood, do embrace the world out there & do remind yourselves on the value of money. I know very clearly that I have no wish for you to be the sandwich generation – to care for your kids next time and at the same time need to look after my financial needs. Here’s a video about what sandwich generation is about (https://youtu.be/aYSlLnyQx10)
Let us keep our fighting spirit together and so that we achieve something that we would look back in the future to say that "yes, we have taken the right decision"
Do not settle for less, go for more in your lifetime!
