Do you enjoy listening to your life story or do you prefer to create your own life story? Life and destiny is no doubt a big topic. Life is always a choice and we are always making choices throughout our life; be it big or small; be it important or trivial; even not choosing is also a choice. The series of choices and decisions made throughout our life have determined where we are right now.

Fortunately or unfortunately (depends how you see it), we are going to make more choices moving forward which will be shaping our future. The question now is, how can we use our saint’s wisdom in Chinese metaphysic (CM) to improve our decision making process, the quality of choices; which will then improve our life? Is this possible or is it just a dream? My answer to this is yes, we can be the master of our destiny, we can shape and improve our future self through the usage of CM. There is a set of tools which we can utilize to enhance the chances of success in life by aligning Heaven, Earth and Man. Man represents the actor - which is me, I, myself. Who am I? What is my characteristic, what is my strength and weakness? What is my life goal and purpose and how can I align my characteristic to live a fulfilling life. I call this the right people. Earth represents the activities that we are performing. We can’t just sit tight doing nothing and expect a windfall or great outcome. We need to take action, execute and deliver! I call this the right action/place. Heaven represents the opportunity, the timing and luck. Is the current opportunity opening up? Is the market condition amicable to improve our chances of success? We need to execute in the right moment to bring victory. I call this the right time. Right people and right place without right time may not yield favorable result. Let us further examine this with a simple example. If we want to get our dream job in our dream company; firstly, we need to equip ourselves with knowledges and skills that are required to be successful in performing the role. Next, we need to have our unique selling point (USP) which differentiate ourselves with competitors. Then, we need to understand the corporate culture and how our characteristics can fit in the corporate culture well. These are the Man element. Bazi is a great tool to assist us in this area. Once we have completed the gap analysis by knowing where we are now (or what we are good at) and where we want to be (what we need to improve), we will have a list of to-do list to bridge the gap to achieve our goals.
