The power of influence is vital for all aspect of life. To create a buy-in, there must be value that you are bringing to the table - that includes any business transaction.

The value of using grab app to get transport has changed the whole taxi/transport industry in Singapore. Closer to us is the S hook lady who has brought entertainment value in the products that she is selling.

The power of influence can also be brought to us by communication. My previous post shared about how Jack Ma influenced us (https://www.the-decoders.com/single-post/2018/12/30/Be-Positive-in-2019) and we are inspired to be like him. Jack Ma has used his words to influence us.

I realized the importance of influence using words. Words which are used well at the right time will impact on the listeners. This applies to our everyday life and I reflected on how I might have used some words carelessly and conveyed the wrong intention. I am really glad to be able to hone this skill not just for my profession but also for my life - it is never too late to learn such important skills!

How can you tell from Chinese profiling? There are a few approaches to find out if you have the power to influence. First of all, do find out your own bazi via this website - http://bazi.masteryacademy.com/

1) Profile/structure

After you have generated the chart, scroll down and look at the bottom of the chart, look out for the profile “Hurting Officer”. If you have around 80% of Hurting Officer profile, you are someone who is out to impress! The hurting officer strives to get attention with all their means!

2) Element

If we look at the element, wood is the element that enables one to communicate well. If you have more wood elements in your chart, you can possibly engage your audience with your “teachings” and you are someone who is able to “teach”, it can also mean that you can communicate effectively.

3) Ten Gods

Finally we can also look at the ten gods. If you have ding (丁) in the day pillar, it means you have the talent to influence and you love to create an impact on others.

Conclusion

Even if you have the above mentioned element/ten god/profile, that does not mean that you will naturally be able to communicate and have the power to influence. Just like the talented Michael Jordan who was one of the best basketball player, he needed hours of practice to perfect his skills.

We need to continue to hone our skills, the talents given to us only serve as a headstart for us. Let’s not put our talents to waste and maximise our potential in performing to the best of our abilities!
